Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

By purchasing, installing, or using Motorcycle Drop Guards (“Product”), the purchaser, user, motorcycle operator, rider, and/or passenger (“User”) acknowledges and agrees to the following:

Terms and Conditions, Refunds, Cancellations, Returns, and Shipping Policy, Installation Guidance, Media Rights Agreement and Waiver, and Product Safety and Use Warnings.

1. Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability

The User acknowledges and accepts that operating a motorcycle is inherently dangerous and voluntarily assumes all associated risks, including but not limited to the risk of serious injury, death, or property damage. These risks remain present regardless of the User’s experience level, the operating speed, or the condition of the riding surface—even when using Motorcycle Drop Guards (“MDG Products”).

MDG Products are intended solely to help minimize cosmetic or structural damage to certain factory-attached motorcycle parts during low-speed maneuvers (under 1,200 RPM) in controlled environments such as training courses, parking lots, or garages.

Although some users may choose to keep MDG Products installed during street use, they are not designed, marketed, or warranted for protection during street riding, higher-speed operation, curved road navigation, or any public roadway use. Any such use is outside the scope of the intended design and is undertaken entirely at the User’s own risk.

By purchasing, installing, or using MDG Products, the User expressly waives any and all claims against the manufacturer, distributor, or affiliates of MDG Products for injuries, damages, or losses arising from the use or misuse of the product.

2. Product Use Disclaimer

While many users leave Motorcycle Drop Guards (MDG Products) installed at all times for potential protection—and do use them while riding on the street—the Products are primarily intended for controlled, low-speed environments, specifically where tip-overs or slow drops (under 1200 RPMs) are most likely to occur.

The Product is not tested, certified, or intended for use on streets, highways, or any public roadways. Any use outside of a controlled, low-speed environment is entirely at the User’s own risk.

By using this Product, the User acknowledges and agrees that:

  • The Product may affect lean angles and handling, especially on lowered or modified motorcycles.

  • The Product may interfere with ground clearance during regular or aggressive street riding.

  • The User assumes full responsibility for any injury, damage, or mechanical issues that may result from use outside of the Product’s intended purpose.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the User releases and holds harmless Calley Motorcycle Parts, LLC (d/b/a MDG Products), including its officers, employees, agents, affiliates, successors, and assigns (“Released Parties”), from any liability for:

  • Injury or death;

  • Property damage;

  • Claims arising from installation, use, misuse, or removal of the Product.

This waiver applies even to claims of negligence, but does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct where such waivers are prohibited by law.

4. Indemnification

The User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from all claims, liabilities, damages, expenses (including attorneys’ fees), and losses arising out of or relating to:

  • Use or misuse of the Product;

  • Improper installation, modification, or removal;

  • Operation on public or private roads, parking lots, or training areas with the Product installed;

  • Participation in or presence at any event involving the Product;

  • Violation of any applicable laws or regulations;

  • Any third-party claims arising from the above activities.

5. Acknowledgment of Instructions and Warnings

User affirms they have read and understood all instructions, FAQs, and warnings at www.motorcycledropguards.com, and agrees to follow all posted terms and conditions. Failure to follow instructions may increase the risk of injury or damage.

6. Governing Law and Venue

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and the User consents to the jurisdiction of those courts.

7. Severability

If any provision is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect and will be interpreted to best reflect the parties’ intentions.

8. Consent and Acceptance

By checking a box or proceeding with the purchase, installation, or use of the Product, the User confirms that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to:

  • All Terms and Conditions, Refunds, Cancellations, Returns, and Shipping Policy, Installation Guidance, Media Rights Agreement and Waiver, and Product Safety and Use Warnings, all outlined in this agreement;

  • The assumption of all associated risks related to motorcycle operation and use of the Product;

  • The limitations of Product use, including environments, handling, and compatibility;

  • The waiver of liability, indemnification, and acknowledgment of warnings and instructions provided at www.motorcycledropguards.com.

The User accepts full responsibility for all risks, damages, or consequences arising from use of the Product.

Product Safety and Use Warnings

Intended Use

The Product is specifically designed for low-speed, controlled environments such as parking lots, training courses, or similar settings. It is not intended for use during high-speed street riding, competitive events, or aggressive cornering where sharp lean angles are involved.

While many users choose to keep the drop guards installed at all times for added protection, the primary purpose is to assist in controlled, low-risk situations where tip-overs and slow-moving drops (under 1200 RPMs) are most likely to occur.

Lean Angle and Confined Turns

Lean angle is influenced by surface conditions, tires, suspension, highway pegs, and accessories.
The Product may interfere with turns tighter than 18 feet.
Users should remove all guards (primary, front, and rear) before engaging in tight/confined space maneuvers or street riding. Failure to do so is at the User's own risk.

Use on Lowered Motorcycles

The Product is not compatible with lowered motorcycles.
Installation on bikes modified from OEM ride height increases the risk of interference and malfunction.
Use in such conditions is at the User’s own risk.

Scope of Protection

The Product is intended to reduce minor cosmetic damage during slow-speed tip-overs to:

  • Front highway bars

  • Rear saddlebag guards

  • Primary cover

It is not intended to protect:

  • Lower fairings

  • Brake or clutch levers

  • Stretched or aftermarket saddlebags

  • Any parts not directly connected to its mounting points

  • Riders, passengers, or third parties

Protection of these nearby components by the Motorcycle Drop Guards may occur incidentally, but is not guaranteed.

Primary Guard Use

The primary guard is only needed on Harley Touring Models 2016 and after.  The primary guard is included at no extra charge for Harley Motorcycles.

The primary guard must be used only in conjunction with the front and rear guards.
It is not designed to function independently or with other aftermarket products.
Do not install if your motorcycle is not at OEM height.

Fastener and Maintenance Checks

Before each ride and after any drop, inspect:

  • Guard fasteners

  • Torque levels (we use hand tightening)(lock tight is at customer discretion)

  • Guard alignment

Due to potential vibration and impact shifts, regular inspection to ensure proper tightening is required—similar to oil or tire checks.

Weight, Risk & Rider Responsibility

Motorcycles weigh between 300–1,000 lbs and pose injury risks during handling. Riders should:

  • Be professionally trained in slow-speed control by a certified advanced motor instructor;

  • Practice only under supervision;

  • Refrain from use if unsure or uncomfortable with the Product’s effect on safety or performance.
